Dear Families,
Today, your child/ren’s report card has been published in My Education. We encourage you to take some time to read through the report together with your child/ren to celebrate their successes and discuss any areas of growth. Our teachers have worked diligently to provide a thoughtful and comprehensive assessment of your child/ren’s progress, and we appreciate your ongoing support in their learning journey.

Nature Kindergarten
Nature Kindergarten is a program of choice that takes place at Saseenos and Sangster Elementary Schools. Parents/caregivers must attend a mandatory information session to receive program information and a registration form. Both sessions will offer the same information, so you can attend either one. Please see attachment for more information on these sessions.
Winter Concert Information
Our Winter Concert is happening on Thursday, December 12. All students will be participating in both concerts and there will be a whole school song at the end of the concert, so please help us out by staying for the entire performance. For the evening performance, students will need to be at school at 5:30pm. Thank you so much for your support.
Winter Concert Tickets
**NOTE** – Tickets for the evening performance are “sold out”. There are about 25 tickets left for the afternoon performance. Please click on link below.
Below is the link for the 1pm show for families to secure tickets. Each division will be performing at the concert. Please note that tickets are currently limited to two per family.

Sooke Food Bank
We are collecting food donations for the Sooke Food Bank. If you would like to make a donation, please bring a non-perishable item to our Winter Concert on December 12.
Strategic Plan Survey
The Sooke School District is currently developing its new Strategic Plan (2025-2029). This plan will serve as a roadmap, outlining the Board of Education’s vision, mission, and values while identifying priorities for the District. It will guide how we develop and support the education system to fulfill our mandate effectively.
This survey will be open from December 3 to December 17, 2024. Feedback gathered will be combined with input from consultation sessions to inform the final Strategic Plan. There are 21 questions in the survey. Please see the attachment for more information.

SMENCILS – PAC is selling smencils for $2.00! Kids can buy on Thursdays when we are there for Hot Lunch or Popcorn Day. If you would like to purchase some as a gift or stocking stuffer, please message the PAC to make arrangements. pac.johnmuir@gmail.com. Don’t know what a smencil is? It’s a scented pencil made from recycled newspaper.

Winter Craft Night:
We have our annual Winter craft night coming up on December 16th from 6:30-7:30pm. During these events we have 7 or 8 tables with different Winter themed crafts and a concession selling baked goods donated by families.
