Friday Newsletter – March 13
Dear Families,
As the second term comes to a close, we reflect on what has been a fantastic period of learning and growth. Students have shown progress in their learning and have engaged enthusiastically with new concepts and challenges. We are proud of their hard work and the support from our staff and families that has made this term such a success.
From all the staff at John Muir, we wish you a restful and fun spring break! We look forward to seeing students back at school on March 30.
Sooke Sing Out
On Tuesday, our choir participated in the Sooke Sing Out at Journey Middle School. It was an amazing evening, and our students represented John Muir well. A big thank you to Ms. Gray and Ms. Wu for preparing and leading the choir. Thanks to parents who came out to watch.
From The Library
Our next Scholastic Book Fair will be happening from April 14-17 in the library.
Please keep your eyes open for a volunteer sigh-up sheet! Our volunteers are greatly appreciated, and the book fair is only possible if we have volunteers! Thank-you in advance.

Grade 5 fundraisers:
Fundraising Flower Baskets
Hi Jaguars,
The Grade 5 class will be running a hanging basket fundraiser to support their year-end trip to Camp Thunderbird. The baskets are supplied by Holland Avenue Nursery and include a variety of hanging baskets and potted plants that will arrive just in time for Mother’s Day.
If you are interested in placing an order, please complete the attached order form and return it to the school. Orders will need to be submitted before April 7, and more details about pickup will be shared closer to delivery. The easiest way to pay for a payment is:
- E-transfer to the PAC email address (please include Camp Thunderbird in the note),
Or
- Cash securely attached to your order forms
If you would like to see examples of the baskets, you can visit www.hollandavenuenursery.com and look under the Retail section.
Thank you for supporting the Grade 5s!
Grade 5 Bottle Drive
Dear Jaguar families,
Our Grade 5 students will be hosting another bottle drive fundraiser to help raise money for their year-end trip to Camp Thunderbird.
The bottle drive will take place on Saturday, April 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the school parking lot. Families are invited to drop off any refundable bottles and cans during this time.
We greatly appreciate your continued support in helping our Grade 5 students work toward their special year-end experience. Thank you for contributing if you are able.
